State of Emergency Update - 1:30pm Monday
Borough officials held a briefing to provide updates this afternoon.
Needless to say, this is significant snowstorm and conditions are evolving as heavy snow has taken down trees and wires leading to 1,635 reported outages. Residents seeking a warming station are welcome to come to the Police Department lobby downstairs at Borough Hall. There are outlets there for charging devices.
If you have lost power, please report your outage to JCP&L. If you encounter downed wires, please stay away. Please report emergencies by calling 911. There is currently not an estimated time of restoration, but once we have an update, we will share. Our representative has been informed and will update us soon.
DPW, Borough Administration, and the AHPD are working around the clock to address emergent issues and to safely get the roads clear. Thank you for your patience and assistance.
Sanitation services are suspended until Thursday, with recycling scheduled for Wednesday and normal trash pickup planned for Thursday and Friday to address delays.
The Harbor is experiencing a widespread outage and we ask that you please avoid the area.
The Mayor and Council have the utmost gratitude for the efforts of our Borough employees. We appreciate the positive feedback we have received from residents.
The State of Emergency will remain in effect until conditions improve significantly.
Again, thank you to all residents for your patience as we work through this historic snow event. There have been many random acts of kindness and just plain neighborly kindness that remind me what the Jewel of the Bayshore is all about.
