Eats & Arts Festival
Enjoy a fun-filled afternoon that provides a wide variety of art and delicious tastes from the local chefs and artists in Atlantic Highlands. Join other food and art lovers on Sunday, May 31 from 1-4pm, as several local restaurants and galleries on First Ave will be presenting an afternoon of “Eats & Arts”. Each restaurant will introduce its chef and offer guests engaging conversation and tastes of a favorite and popular menu item(s) from its restaurant, while featuring several local artists and live artist demonstrations at their location. The local galleries will also be participating in this “artistic” afternoon by offering a tour of its gallery

The Monmouth County Health Department under a New Jersey Department of Health Superstorm Sandy Recovery Grant is offering free testing of residential soil and dust to determine the presence of lead.
Single District Task Force: Consolidation is a Win-Win-Win Scenario (pdf)
Town officials, school leaders, and Board of Education representative from Atlantic Highlands and Highlands gathered together with the County Superintendent of Schools recently to identify the pros and cons of merging the three school districts of Atlantic Highlands Elementary, Henry Hudson Regional, and Highlands Elementary into one. What emerged from the discussion is that there were only pros.
Habitat for Humanity Relief Fund (pdf)
Habitat for Humanity has been awarded a grant from the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund to assist low and moderate income homeowners with the purchase of furniture, appliances and building materials at the Habitat ReStore in Freehold.
Flood Map Appeals (pdf)
The flood hazard study for the coastal communities in New Jersey and New York has entered the regulatory 90-day appeal and comment period. To assist community officials and the public submit and track appeals and comments, FEMA Region II developed an online feedback portal accessible through the Region2Coastal.com website. Go to http://www.region2coastal.com/appeal/ to learn more about the feedback portal and the appeals and comments process.
