Executive Order 190 – No Utility Disconnect

To All Atlantic Highlands Water Utility Users

Under Executive Order 190, no household in New Jersey can have its electricity, gas or water service shut off due to non-payment through June 30, 2021. No gas or electric public or municipal utility or privately or publicly owned water system shall collect any fee or charge imposed for late or otherwise untimely payments or service reconnections that have accrued, and will continue to accrue, during the Public Health Emergency. This prohibition does NOT apply to  sewer charges , which are managed by the Atlantic Highlands Water and Sewer Department.

If you're having trouble paying your water utility bills, there are some options for help. Below is an overview of the assistance programs that are available to customers of the Atlantic Highlands Water & Sewer Department/Utility.

Levelized Billing Plans:   We urge water utility rate payers to make minimum or equal payments as much as possible including weekly, monthly or quarterly.

Deferred Payment Arrangement Plans:   Water payments can be deferred to a later time with no penalty if you contact Borough Hall to request that accommodation, however all outstanding charges must ultimately be paid in full. There is no automatic deferral.

Forgiveness Plans:   The Borough does not offer forgiveness programs .
